Here’s a list of what’s hot right now in the HoT
1. My new mobile – it’s sooo pretty and pink!
2. Stacking cups – they keep the girls amused for ages, well R amused anyway. G has the attention span of a flea.
3. The Adam and Joe show podcast from 6 Music. If you haven’t listened to their radio show on 6 Music on Saturday mornings, go and download their podcast. It’s proper funny.
4. Fruit pots – much easier and less time-consuming than pureeing fruit yourself
5. Driving to work with Terry Wogan in the morning and driving home with Chris Evans in the evening
6. Baseball on 5 – I used to think Baseball was glorified rounders but thanks to dh I’m hooked. Now we need to decide whether the girls should be Red Sox fans like their mummy or Arizona Diamondbacks fans like their daddy…
7. Sitting up – the girls are ace at it and playtime is so much fun now
8. I-tunes. I spend too much money filling gaps in my music collection but I keep finding little gems, e.g. ‘A little bit of feel-good’ by Jamie Lidell. Seriously. Listen to it. I guarantee you’ll be going a little shimmy within seconds.
9. Tumble mats – much comfier for our poor botties than the wooden floor, plus the girls can roll about without hurting themselves
10. Hot Chip – I sing ‘Over and Over’ to the girls and they laugh their heads off, especially when I sing the ‘Laaaaid back, laaaid back I’ll give you laid back’ bit accompanied by jazz hands.
11. Facebook. It’s a bit 2007 now but I’m still hooked.
12. Playing peek-a-boo with the girls using a muslin square. R is brill at getting the cloth off, G sits there for ages looking like a little ghost. Bless!
13. My blog (another shameless plug) – I love writing it. I’ve always loved writing and now I have something (two things) worth writing about.
14. POTOMS and Multiple Mums
15. Gossip Girl – yes, I’m about 15 years too old for it but it’s a guilty pleasure, like Sex and The City and Friends.
16. Making the girls laugh by acting like a loon.
17. America Unchained by Dave Gorman – funny and thought-provoking. Do we really want all of our cities and towns to look the same?
18. Top Gear – back and as funny as ever. Can the Hamster be any camper?!
19. Moonpig – the greeting cards site that has saved my sorry bottom on several occasions. People love receiving cards with piccies of the girls on them.
20. Lord’s – the cathedral of cricket and the venue for the girls’ first live game on 16th August. They let babies in! They have changing facilities and buggy storage! I’m doing a sun dance as we speak.
