Really interesting and having 'seen' the girls grow over the last 2 years it really does appear that they are growing into their own skin so to speak and are just who they are meant to be. xx

Oh no Jo! Don't delete.

You've had your fair share digs but mainly from people who don't 'get' you. As you know I have a singleton as well as twins. After my first pregnancy, I never would have thought having twins was so much more work, emotion and so much more lonely than having one child but it is. Which is why we need a blog like yours so we know that we are not alone and are 'normal' twin parents.

Noooooo please don't delete your blog! It's the only thing keeping me sane :-) Seems like you're having a bit of a crap week over here and I can totally understand how you'd be feeling a bit attacked by negative comments.

For the record, you're a brilliant mum and a brilliant, funny and engaging writer. I agree with Perrine above, it's nice to read that all of us twin mums have times when we question whether we're any good at what we're doing.

Have a large G&T, put your feet up and focus on the positive comments rather than the negative.

I need your blog! Like you I have dark moments, moments where I question whether I am doing it right as a mum of twins, whether other people cope better than me ... and it's reassuring to know that other also struggled at times. Your blog is also a reminder that this twin motherhood thing is an amazing journey with lots of very funny, happy moments that you capture oh so well.

I agree with Liz79 & Laura, read it to the end, if you have read any of the other entries from the author then you will get her humour. Her blogs are to the point, funny, witty & entertaining. As a mother myself I understand where she is coming from with the buggy blog ("buggygate")it does my head in fighting for a piece of pavement sometimes.
Seriously get a grip people, it was only written in jest, we all need to let a bit of steam off sometimes and this is a fab way of doing it.
I WILL continue to read this blog as it is fantastic.

All I can say is if you don't like what you are reading then go elsewhere......

i second you there Liz79.. i believe the others may have read to the end, but perhaps don't know the ways of the writter.. having read most of her blogs i understand everything is written with a pinch of salt.. and this is certainly not her biggest gripe!!!.
I'm a singleton mummy... and lost twins and a baby with a disorder, and hey it don't offend me, in fact i kind see where she was at, at times i use my buggy as a weapon for space and other times let others go first.. Its all part of being mummies... laugh joke and for g*d sack lighten up!!!!

I'm in agreement with Perrine. I understand a Blog to be something quiet personnel almost like a diary, and if your other visitors don't like what they read then they should have clicked out. Would they be so offended if they had read a diary??

I found the entry amusing and I think you have more than apologised. I have tried a few times to try and squeeze my double buggy (I have twins) past duel walking mummies for them to almost expect my buggy to shrink.

I have to say I don't understand the previous comments. Have you all read it to the end?

If you are one of the very few selfish, arrogant people that this applies to then you deserve knocking down a peg or 2. This applies to parents of twins, triplets or even non-parents. If you are in the vast majority of people who are kind, caring and considerate then this blog entry clearly isn't aimed at you. You must have noticed the types of mummies that this is having not very serious dig at.

Once again please read it to the end. If you still don't understand and/or are still insulted in some way then I can only suggest you spend your time doing something else.

I've been reading this blog for a long time and I hope it continues. It often brings a smile to my face, which is something all parents need from time to time.

Please keep up the good work.

Hi Joanna,

I am a regular reader of your blog even if I very very rarely comment. I read your 'how wide is your buggy' entry with a big smile on my face, nodding along all the way and I found it hilarious (I also have issues with 'that' type of mums and many my chip is even bigger than yours!).

I do understand how it can offend some people, but it was really meant as tongue in cheek, and I'm sure people can understand that it was only directed to a certain 'type' of mum as you very well explained in this entry and not a generalisation to all singleton mums!

This is your own blog, your own opinions, your own place to write what you feel like. If they don't like it, it is very easy to go and click on the little cross at the top right side of the screen...

How unbelievably ignorant and offensive. I conceived twins and lost one of them. Does that make me not as clever as her? I have gone on to have 4 children and have used single and double buggies. I have made many friends especially with my last pregnancy and often go out in convoy with prams. Since being a mum I have gained a degree and work part time as a staff nurse. To insinuate that this person is better than the rest of us is laughable to be honest. One of my children died of cancer and I retrained as a nurse at this time to help others. I choose baby items mainly second hand to save the planet and recycle as often as possible even my wedding presents were charity donations! Does this writer think of anyone other than herself? I doubt it. I feel sorry for those children growing up with such a rude selfish person. How about dirrecting your anger to people who park on pavements, take baby parking spaces or dont stop at crossings!

mmmm have to say after reading the blog plus reading the writers attempt to explain the reasons for writing it, I can have no sympathy with her. This is quite frankly a personal attack on people who are not "like" the author, to people who the author feels do not have the same values as herself.

Who is this person to judge others in this way.

wrong, very wrong. Cleverly written but wrong!

With such good writing skills, maybe this person should put their skills to better use, or if they have to write things that are so insulting to other people then maybe she should keep them for her own private viewing.

The thing is, i have known you a lot of years, and i know how your sense of humour works. We have a laugh, we are sarcastic bitchy etc. However i do feel you have oversteppd the mark on this one. Not just this one, ive let a couple of others slide, but i just thought that if a friend cant tell you when youve overdone it, then who can?

I did find the entry offensive, and was quite upset at your generalisation of singleton mummies, and your judgemental attitude. For example, you dont know if any of these mummies have twins at school? Also if you are chatting with someone, you really need to stand next to them as opposed to behind them to have a proper chinwag, of course they should move for oncoming traffic, but they are just one instance, most people would move.

I have read every single one of your blog entries, and it more often than not is a great source of entertainment. I love hearing about what you and the girls are up to. Just try not to generalise so much! x

Seriously smug entry Jo. Considerate? No. Not all singleton mummies are like this, and we are not lesser human beings for having one baby at a time. Im quite offended by this entry actually. I think you have done an amazing job with your girls, but that doesnt mean you have to look down your nose at people who dont have multiples!

Creating life is just as special whether its one baby, two, three or more. Its not a competition! Why shouldnt singleton mummies be proud of their bumps? Why does this bother you so much?

I am guilty of walking alongside my buggy buddies on the way to school, but always move for other people. Also i cant help taking up the majority of the pavement when i have both girls holding onto the buggy, im not going to jeopardise their safety by walking them behind me like ducklings, other people will just have to wait.

Who is next in your firing line? Pedestrians while youre driving? Smokers? People under 5 feet tall?

wow. Don't you have a chip on your shoulder? Now, twins are very special but i bet when you were looking at buggy's you didn't have to think about whether you could fold them up as you only have one working arm? How you would cope with any babies - one or two - with this disablity? Whether your lung would recollapse whilst giving birth? Whether the baby would get stuck as you have a knackered pelvis? Maybe you didn't have continuous contractions from 24 weeks in pregnancy that makes you appreciate your full term baby more every day?
Everyone has their difficulties and it seems to me that you have yours but to say that you are 'cleverer' (er... that's not actually a word is it?) and ramming it down people's throat's is wrong. Your problems are insignificant to those experienced by other people.
Do you continuously admire people with triplets? Because, with your attitude, you should.

Oh the frogs!! I do recall plenty of lily-pad dwelling on your part haha!! I still have your letters from uni! Do you know who you came second to in your A levels? I absolutely cant guess, ust give me initials!!

Everything does happen for a reason, and i wouldnt change many things, as they have made me the person i am today. Which im quite pleased with!
